Senior Architect
Integrated Health Centers and Workers' Hospitals, Ras Laffan, Qatar. The hospital is the second of three to be built for migrant workers by the Special Engineering Office. The facilities are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2016. Each will have a capacity of 120 beds, which could later be expanded to 217 beds. Work on the other projects at Mesaieed Industrial City and Doha Industrial Area had commenced in 2013. Each of these hospitals, too, will have an attached health centre and medical commission unit. Project value: US$ 61 million. Participating in the supervision and project management of all architectural and finishing works including managing the design stage, acting as the Engineer under the FIDIC Contract and administering day-to-day site activities of the project. Main Activities: • Review the project design strategy and provide recommendations to Client, • Participate to all meetings with Design Consultants and Client's Meetings, • Review and comment on all drawings and documents submitted by the Design Consultants, • Monitor and ensure timely submittals of all documents from the Design Consultants to all Government Departments until obtaining the final permits necessary to proceed with the works until final completion, • Assist in preparing pre-qualification questionnaire for Construction Contractors, assisting in carrying out the pre-qualification and recommending a bidders list, • Lead PMC Design Discipline Engineers in replying to bidders clarifications, and participating in technical meetings with bidders during Tender stage, • Propose alternative materials to improve the Design Operations, Future Maintenance and Construction Cost, • Manage finishes procurement process from sample reviews through to mock-ups, approvals and execution, • Review design changes and field change requests, • Manage day-to-day architectural and structural design interfaces for construction activities, • Ensure that all the Project Design Documents are controlled, recorded and filed as per contract requirements, • Manage the day-to-day Architectural / Interior Design RFI’s and Shop drawings submission.
